Development History

1954

  • October: The Ministry of Construction acquired three private factories, including Shanghai Zhongli, renaming it the "State-Owned Electric Motor Installation Engineering Company Processing Factory," which was managed by the East China Engineering Bureau.
  • December: The Ministry of Construction (Document No. 54-340) approved the acquisition of five private factories, including Shanghai Youcheng and Dajiang, renaming it the "State-Owned Electromechanical Installation Engineering Company Processing Factory," managed under the Second Electromechanical Installation Engineering Company of the Ministry of Construction.

1955

  • January: 11 machinery and iron factories, such as Zhongxing, Yuxiang, and Jianzhong, along with six hardware stores like Deshun and Liyuan, were approved for amalgamation by the Xi’an Municipal Administration Bureau (Document No. 55-44), forming the "Zhongxing Metal Machinery Manufacturing Factory," under the management of the Xi'an Municipal Administration Bureau.
  • September: The merger between the private and public sectors at Zhongxing Metal Machinery Manufacturing Factory was approved (Document No. 55-844), and the factory was moved to the dilapidated "Weinan Hui Guan" in Xi’an's West Street, with management transferred to the Xi’an Local Industry Bureau.

1956

  • January: Nine private factories, including Songmao and Great Wall, were incorporated.
  • January: The Ministry of Construction acquired five private factories, including Shanghai Xietai, renaming it the "Ministry of Construction Installation Engineering Bureau First Processing Accessories Factory." In April of the same year, to support the construction in the Northwest, the Ministry of Construction transferred the factory from Shanghai to Hansenzhai in Xi'an, under the leadership of the East China Installation Engineering Bureau.

1957

  • July: The factory moved to Hujiamiao, renaming it the "Ministry of Construction Installation Engineering Bureau First Accessories Factory."
  • March 1958: The upper management decided to refocus the factory on electric motor production, renaming it "Xi’an Electric Motor Manufacturing Factory," under the leadership of the Ministry of Construction Installation Engineering Bureau.

1958

  • March: The upper management decided to shift the former public-private Zhongxing Metal Machinery Manufacturing Factory to electric motor manufacturing, renaming it the "Public-Private Xi’an Zhongxing Electric Motor Manufacturing Factory," under the management of the Xi’an Local Industry Bureau.
  • October: The Xi'an Electric Appliance Manufacturing Cooperative Factory (a collective enterprise) was incorporated.

1961

  • March: The Public-Private Xi'an Zhongxing Electric Motor Manufacturing Factory was renamed "Public-Private Shaanxi Zhongxing Electric Motor Manufacturing Factory" and relocated from West Street to the eastern suburb of Xi’an, Hujiamiao, under the leadership of the Shaanxi Provincial Machinery Industry Bureau.

1962

  • August: To implement the industrial "adjustment, consolidation, strengthening, and improvement" policy, the Public-Private Shaanxi Zhongxing Electric Motor Manufacturing Factory merged with Xi’an Electric Motor Manufacturing Factory, renaming it the "Public-Private Xi'an Zhongxing Electric Motor Factory," managed by the Shaanxi Provincial Machinery Industry Bureau.

1965

  • March: In accordance with the directives of the Ministry of First Machinery Industry, all personnel and equipment from the DC motor workshop of Dalian Electric Motor Factory were transferred to the factory.

1966

  • September: Following approval by the Xi’an Metallurgical Electromechanical Industry Bureau (Document No. 66-537), the Public-Private Xi’an Zhongxing Electric Motor Factory was renamed "Local State-Owned Xi’an Zhongxing Electric Motor Factory," under the management of the Xi’an Metallurgical Electromechanical Industry Bureau. At this point, the factory was composed of 39 private factories and one collective cooperative. The management system transitioned from a decentralized model to a centralized one, with the introduction of a three-tier management structure (factory, workshop, production team). The factory’s production scale grew from small to large, with improvements in personnel, equipment, and technological development, diversifying products, stabilizing quality, and increasing production capacity. The factory became one of the three main electric motor manufacturers in the “Big Northwest” under the national planned economy system, and it was designated as the supplier of tank motors by the Ministry of First Machinery Industry. The factory contributed significantly to the national economy during both the planned and market economies.
  • The factory name was changed to "Xi'an Electric Motor Factory," and it was placed under the Xi'an Metallurgical Electromechanical Industry Bureau.

1972

  • May: The Xi’an Electric Appliance Testing Center was merged into Xi'an Electric Motor Factory.

1974

  • October: The transformer workshop of Xi'an Electric Motor Factory was separated and became the Pucheng Transformer Factory.

1996

  • December: Xi'an Electric Motor Factory took over the assets of the bankrupt Xi'an Dongfang Electric Motor Factory.

1999

  • September: Xi'an Electric Motor Factory took over the bankrupt Xi’an Electric Motor Factory Third Branch.

2004

  • January: Under the guidance and support of the municipal government, Xi'an Electric Motor Factory was restructured into a limited liability company, “Xi'an Simo Electric Motor (Group) Co., Ltd.,” with a registered capital of 40 million RMB, becoming a successful pilot enterprise in the reform of state-owned enterprises in Xi'an.

2005

  • May: "Xi'an Simo Enterprise Group" was officially established, consisting of 14 companies involved in various industries, including motor R&D and manufacturing, repair, culture, transportation, real estate development, trade, electrical control, mold manufacturing, property management, and logistics, forming a diverse and thriving enterprise group with motor production as the core business.

2006

  • May: In line with the "Xi'an Industrial Revitalization Plan," the factory relocated from Hujiamiao, Jin Hua North Road, to the Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone on Fengcheng 10th Road, marking a major leap forward in the company's history.

2007

  • December: Xi'an Simo Electric Motor (Group) Co., Ltd. changed its name to Xi'an Simo Electric Motor (Group) Co., Ltd., and the registered capital increased from 40 million RMB to 165 million RMB.

2009

  • November: Xi'an Simo Electric Motor (Group) Co., Ltd. transferred its shares to Harbin Taifu Electric Co., Ltd., and changed its name to “Xi'an Taifu Simo Electric Motor Co., Ltd.”

2015 - Present

  • Xi'an Simo Electric Motor has developed into a large high-tech enterprise with 6,000 employees. It is one of the largest manufacturers of medium and large AC/DC motors and high/low voltage electric motors in China. The company integrates motor design and manufacturing, electrical control, mechanical processing, mold production, casting, transportation, and other automation and complete systems to provide comprehensive power solutions.
